This versatile NYU trained actress made her primetime debut as "Tosha Mitchell," a member of "Omar's" crew in the critically acclaimed HBO series "The Wire", while simultaneously starring on stage as the Welsh-singing princess, Lady Mortimer, in Shakespeare's Henry IV.
On the big screen, Edwina garnered critical acclaim for her role as "Rosie" in director Ava Duvernay's (SELMA) award winning feature MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, which stormed the 2012 Sundance Film Festival as the year's breakout new comer. Findley has performed in twelve countries, sung in seven languages and has appeared in such theatrical productions as Eclipsed, written by actress Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead) and set during the Liberian war, and the historical drama Gee's Bend, for which Edwina was nominated for the Barrymore Award for Outstanding Lead Actress. Other notable credits include roles on HBO's "Veep" with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" and the "Law & Order" franchise.
A native of Washington, DC with family roots in Liberia, West Africa, Edwina studied theatre and classical music at the historic Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Georgetown. From there, she attended New York University and her superior work was honored by the Outstanding Artist and Scholar Award, Founder's Day Award, the Dean's List, and an induction into the prestigious Tisch University Scholars Program. She spent her summers learning from such cutting-edge artists as George C. Wolfe, Jeffrey Wright, Joe Morton, and Billy Crudup during her internships at Off-Broadway's Public Theatre.
